Headteacher’s Comments

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all the new children and their parents to our school.  We now have 243 children at our school, an increase of 17 from January.  I hope you all had a lovely summer and have been inspired by the Olympics and Paralympics.  Remember no excuses!

Thank you for your support this week.  I had a meeting with some headteachers on Wednesday and they were all impressed that so many children had made an effort for their Launch Days, especially on the first day back.  I hope all parents found the ‘Meet the Teachers’ Evening’ useful.  It was great seeing over 100 parents supporting their children and meeting with the teachers.

I look working forward to working with you all this year.

Homework Club

Homework Club begins next Tuesday (13 September), from 3.15 – 4.15pm.

Our next PTA meeting is on Monday (10 September) at 9am.  The main item will be final preparations for our school’s Autumn Fair.

The parents of the children in Miss Gibbs’s Class would have received an email today regarding swimming next Thursday.  Please make sure your children have the correct swimming kit, towel and £1.  Any parents who are able to walk down (we leave at 9:30am and return at 11:00am) please speak to someone in the office before Wednesday.

Year 3 Trip

As part of the town’s Holy Cross Day celebrations, we have been asked along to a special Church Service next Friday (14 September).  Year 3 will be leaving about 1:15pm and returning to school a bit later (between 3:30pm and 3:45pm).  Please return the slip below.

If you have any unwanted crockery at home, please can you bring in by next Friday (14 September) so we can use it at the Autumn Fair.

Autumn Fair

Our School’s PTA is organising our second annual Autumn Fair next Saturday (15 September).  Please keep the date free and encourage friends and family to attend.  All money raised will be going towards improving the facilities in the playground.
