Headteacher’s Comments
As soon as leaving September, the nights are closing in and the weather is becoming more autumnal. Please make sure your child’s clothes are labelled so if they misplace or lose an item it can be returned to them as quickly as possible.
Achievements
Well done to Tienna Mehmet, Lily Moore (Miss Kent’s Class), Harry Harmer (Mrs Watson’s Class), Kai Gibbs, Kallum Etienne, Olivia Smith (Mrs Kaleel’s Class), Leo Strange (Miss Biggs’s Class) who received Green Cards this week.
Attendance
Well done to Mrs Kaleel’s Class who had the best attendance last week with 98.8%.
Distractions
A number of teachers have spoken to me regarding parents who look through the windows at the start and at the end of the day. Although I am sure these parents have best intentions, it does cause distraction to learning, not only for your child but other children in the class.
Parking
I have been contacted by a concerned neighbour regarding parking around the school. Please make sure you park considerately, obeying the parking restrictions in force. It is all our responsibility to ensure that pavements are clear so that it is safe for all the children to walk to school.
Breakfast Club
This is a reminder that Breakfast Club does not start until 8.10am. No children should be on site before this time.
Harvest Festival (21 October 2pm)
Year 4 has been busy working on their Harvest Festival Assembly to showcase the work we have been doing on our current topic ‘Harvest’. Family and Friends are invited to watch the assembly at 2pm. We have, in the past, collected food items for a local charity and we would like to continue this tradition, as we have been talking about sharing produce and helping others. If you would like to contribute gifts of tinned food or packets of non-perishable goods, these would be welcome from any child in the school from Monday, 13 October. Thank you
Talk Homework
‘There are footprints in the snow’
Who do they belong to?
How did they get there?
What do they look like?
Where are they going?
Relief Catering Assistant
Our school kitchen is looking for relief catering assistants, who will be called on as and when required. You will need to be fit and hard-working! Please contact the school office and ask for Mrs Miller, our School Cook.
Feedback from Governors
An inspector, an HMI, spent a day in school recently, following up on the points made as a result of the Ofsted inspection. He commended the headteacher, the Senior and Middle Managers’ teams, all the staff and the members of the Governing Body on all the work they have already done to implement improvements. His report is on the school’s website. I know that you will all be pleased to congratulate and thank the staff and governors for their work.
