Happy New Year! I hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas and New Year. It’s all go next week when the themes for this term’s topics are launched. Please also keep an eye on the ‘Dates for Diary’ section as dates are added constantly.
Well done to Melanie Bennett, Aleyna Gurbuz, Mimi Fetta and Samaya Kaleel (Mrs Raddon’s Class) and Aaron Joseph and (Miss Wood’s Class) who received a Green Card this week.
Well done to Miss O’Riodan’s Class who had the best attendance last week.
Monday (14 January) is our Launch Day when the children are introduced to the themes of the topics they will be learning about over the next term.
Year 3 (Waltham Abbey)
We would like the children to dress up in old Waltham Abbey/Victorian dress – e.g. market trader/ shop keeper/local historical figure.
We would like the children to dress in colourful clothes that represent the colours of the Bangladeshi Flag – red and green, or a sari.
Year 5 (Egyptians)
We would like the children to dress in appropriate Egyptian clothes for this day, so they can really get into character.
Year 6 (Water)
We would like the children to dress in blue clothes to represent water particles.
The next PTA meeting will be next Monday (14 January) starting at 9.00 am.
The Bags2School collection is next week (Wednesday 16 January) so please bring in any unwanted clothes as soon as possible. You can use black bags/carrier bags as an alternative if you have already filled the Bags2School bag. This is a great way to raise funds for the school without it costing you a penny. Last year we raised over £650 from the collections.
The dates for Spanish Club this term are Monday 21 January, 28 January, 4 February, 11 February, 25 February, 4 March, 11 March and 18 March. Mrs May runs Spanish Club every Monday morning starting 8:15am. There is no cost for this club.
This term’s coffee mornings are advertised below. These give you an opportunity to hear current developments at school and also to hear your feedback about how the school is working. If you can’t make your particular year group day, please feel free to come on another day. Nans and Granddads are also welcome. You will get an exciting FREE GIFT and this time cake will be on offer!!!
Well done to James Warner, Kimberley Murray, Samaya Kaleel and Madison Hammond who will have their poems published in a poetry book.
This is a reminder that dogs are not allowed on the school grounds.
