Items will cost no more than £1.50. All children can bring in extra money to purchase these snacks. The money raised will go towards a Year 6 history workshop.
Complaint from resident
I have been contacted by a local resident who is upset that parents allow their children to climb on the neighbour’s wall and play with the fences/gates. She is also upset that parents have been rude towards her when she has asked them to keep off her property. Please keep an eye on your children at all times when travelling to and from school and teach them to be respectful of local residents’ properties.
Consultation Update
Dear Parents / Carer’s,
The governing bodies of the Leverton Infant and Nursery school and the Leverton Junior school recently undertook a consultation exercise with the local authority to ask for your views on the future of the two schools.
At separate meetings on Wednesday 10th June, both governing bodies reviewed and discussed the feedback received during the consultation and have decided that they would like to continue with the proposal to join the schools from September 2016.
The feedback received was generally in favour of the proposal, although some key concerns were raised. Governors have determined that they will provide appropriate support and ensure that robust monitoring is in place to enable the transition into a single school to be achieved while continuing to focus on the children’s learning and wellbeing.
Additionally, the leadership arrangements for the infant school have been confirmed, and Geoff Schooling (Chair of the Infant School) has asked me to share that Mrs Barbara Coates will be joining the school as Interim Headteacher from September 2015 until July 2016. Barbara will be supported by our existing Deputy Head Teacher Amanda Beggs and they will share the role to provide continuity in leadership at the infant school as well as support for the transitional arrangements required for the joining of the schools.
I hope that you will continue to support the school during this challenging and exciting period, and that you will begin to see the many benefits that the children will experience once the schools become a single learning environment.
Yours faithfully,
Miggie Hillson
Chair of Governors
