Headteacher’s Comments
I hope your children are continuing to settle well into their new classes. The school has been buzzing with four of the year groups going on school trips this week. We timetable trips early in the school term so it has the greatest impact on their learning. I look forward to seeing you all at the Autumn Fair tomorrow!
Attendance
Well done to Mrs Raddon’s class who had the best attendance last week. They ‘jump the queue’ every lunchtime. Madison Hammond was awarded Percy for always putting 100% effort into her work! Well done Madison.
This is a reminder:
- if your child is absent due to illness for more than 3 days then the parent must provide some evidence that they have visited a GP. This could be either a signed compliment slip from the doctor, appointment card or a photocopy of the prescribed medicine.
- any child entering the front door between 8:50am and 9:10am will be marked as late.
- if there is regular lateness then your child may have to stay in during playtime or lunchtime to catch up on their work.
- any child late after 9:10am will be marked as unauthorised absence, unless you provide evidence of a medical appointment eg appointment card/ prescribed medicine or a signed compliment slip from the doctor. A number of unauthorised lateness (after 9:10am) could result in a meeting with the Education Welfare Officer.
Autumn Fair
I hope to see as many friends and family tomorrow at our Autumn Fair (12pm to 3pm).
Coffee Mornings
Mums, Dads. Nans, Grandads are more than welcome to join me next week at our termly coffee mornings. This is a chance for you to meet with the school’s leadership team and hear some more about the school and offer your suggestions. If you are unable to come on your allotted day, please feel free to come to any of the other coffee mornings. You may even leave with a free gift!
King Harold Road Show
Headteacher of King Harold Enterprise Academy, Denice Harper, and some members of staff will hold a Road Show for parents of children in Year 5 and 6. The Road Show takes place on Wednesday 19 September starting at 6:30pm. The Road Show will be held here at The Leverton Junior School.
Breakfast Bar
This is a reminder that children shouldn’t be at Breakfast Bar until 8:10am every morning.
