Headteacher’s Comments

Thank you for all your positive comments about the newsletter.  I know many of you find it useful, especially the ‘Dates for your Diary’ section.  Please let me know if there is anything else you would find useful to know.  Also, please keep checking the ‘Dates for your Diary’ section as I do add dates when teachers/ parents ask me to.  If I do add a new date, it will be in italic font to make it clear for you.  I hope to see you all at next week’s Opening Evening.

Sophie Burling (Mrs Campbell’s Class) came to see me with her beautiful homework book.  It is always a pleasure to look at Sophie’s books, they are always so neatly presented.  To add to this, the quality of what Sophie had actually written was also very high.  Well done Sophie!  Miss Gibbs’s class read their recounts of ‘The Piano’.  They all managed to capture the emotions behind such a lovely video.  Melissa Bruton and Charlie Spillett were sent to me for working hard in Ms Cromwell’s Maths Booster class.  Chino Akpuda and Niklas Heinen were sent to me because they had worked extremely hard in their maths lesson.

Open Evening

Our summer Open Evening is next Tuesday, 21st June, between 5pm and 7pm.  This gives you the chance to look at some of your child’s work over the past year, have an informal chat with your child’s current teacher and to introduce yourself to your child’s teacher for next year.  The activities are as follows:

Classrooms                  Children’s work/ Chat with Class Teachers

Hall                              PTA fundraiser- Gladiator Jousting/ Face Painting and Refreshments

Dining Room                Year 2 Induction Meeting 5-5:30pm

PTA Events

The PTA will be running a cake stall at the Open Evening.  Any donations of cakes would be greatly appreciated.  Please leave them with the school office on Monday or Tuesday.

Book Sale

Mrs Pentelow has organised another Book Fair.  She will be selling books in Breakfast Club from Friday 1 July until Thursday 7 July.

This is a reminder that the back entrance to the school shuts at 8:50am.  Any child coming through the front entrance once the back door is closed will be marked as late.

Well done to Mrs Chapman’s Class who won Percy this week for having the best attendance last week.
