Headteacher’s Comments
You know one of my ‘swear’ words is attendance. I really do believe that good attendance is important in order for children to get the best education. I know that children do get ill but this is a reminder that if your child is off school for more than three days, then we will need medical evidence (a copy of the prescribed medicine or an appointment card) to authorise any of the absence. Also if you are applying for a leave of absence on the grounds that this is the only time your employer is able to authorise leave, then please provide a letter from your employer.

Attendance
Well done to Miss Smith’s Class who had the best attendance last week. Miss Smith’s class wins Percy and ‘jumps the dinner queue’.
Governor Questionnaire
On Monday the Governing Body sent out a questionnaire. These need to be returned next Monday in a sealed envelope marked ‘Governor Questionnaire’. The governors are meeting next Thursday to go through the responses.
Bikeability
A number of parents have asked if their child can take part in the bikeability courses. The courses are designed only for Year 5 and 6. Miss Gibbs is busy arranging some further dates for other children to have bike training. Watch this space…
Letters
Please look inside your child’s book bag every night to check whether there are any letters in there. Some parents have missed meetings because the letters are still in the bottom of their child’s book bag.
Photographer
The School Photographer will be in next Tuesday (22 May) to take whole class pictures and a special year-six ‘year book’.
