Headteacher’s Comments

Year Four and year Five have enjoyed visiting experts this week.  The children learn a lot from these visitors and these are cheaper because we don’t have to pay for coach travel.  The expert also spends more time with the children this way.  Please make sure you have paid for these.

Achievements

Millie Eastwood, Theodora Shiakallis, Amber Brooks, Ben McFadden, Craig Dowling, Charlie Santagata and Sam Cosford came to see me on Tuesday after receiving Green Cards.  Taya Hunter, Alesha Wade, Jamie Schooling, Reece Vallance and Brooke Wilkinson received Green Cards for working well in a team to compose a sequence in music. A group of pupils in Mrs Pughsleys class performed exceptionally well in a whole school assembly. They were Tommy Argent, Theodora Shiakallis, Hollie Morris, Sophie Lewis, Millie Eastwood and Amber Brooks. They all received a green card for this. Well done!  Well done too to Jessica Okaka who has become the latest of our children to become a times tables tester.  Well done to Michael Phipps and Albert Paris who received Green cards from Mr Waldron.  Well done everyone!

Shrek Theatre Trip

Please let the office know by next Friday if you no longer need your tickets.

Attendance

Well done to Mrs Campbell’s Class who won Percy after having Best Attendance last week.

Help Advertise our Inflatable Day and win a prize

I have been approached by a local estate agent who will be willing to donate money for every board that is erected to advertise our Inflatable Day.  A few weeks before the event (31 May) the company puts the boards up in your front garden and the event is advertised!  The company then arranges for the boards to be taken down a few days after the event.

If you can have a board in your front garden, please complete the form at the bottom of the page and return it as soon as possible.  The company is willing to put up boards in Waltham Abbey, Loughton, Epping, Abridge and Theydon Bois.  So if you have friends and family who live in these areas, please ask them to display a board.

Everyone who signs up will be entered into a prize draw.

Parking

Once again there are some parents who are stopping by the school gate to drop their children off.  This is not a dropping off area.  By stopping at the school gate parents are blocking the entrance to staff and visitors.  This makes the road more congestive and dangerous. Also it is makes it difficult for pedestrians to cross the entrance safely.  Please be considerate and stop using the entrance as a drop-off.

Pupil Progress Meetings

Our Pupil Progress Meetings for parents will be spread over two days Tuesday 13 March 2011 (3:30pm-6:00pm) and Thursday 15 March 2011(5:00pm- 7:30pm).

To enable appointments to be arranged, will you please complete the slip overleaf and return it to your child’s class teacher by Friday 9 March.  We will then do our best to give you interviews at appropriate times
