Headteacher’s Comments
You may have noticed that this newsletter is on different coloured paper. This was one of the many suggestions made by parents who attended the coffee mornings this week. Thank you to everyone who attended; I hope you found them useful. I know Ms Cromwell, Mrs Ferris and I did and we will be looking at all your comments over the next few weeks.
Achievements
There must have been something in the water on Tuesday. I had 11 children sent to me from Miss Gordon’s class because they had worked so hard in their guided reading group. This was quickly followed by Aaliyah Margetson and Megan Doherty (Miss Gibbs’s Class) who had been working hard in their maths lesson. Then Amber Brooks, Victoria Fry and Mai-Lei Chan (Ms Stafford’s Class) brought their literacy work to show me. Well done to everyone who received green cards this week!
Attendance
Well done to Mrs Sach and Mrs Chapman’s classes for a perfect 100% attendance this week. Mrs Sach’s class won Percy because fewer children were late.
Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
I am setting up a Parent Teacher Association to help with fundraising at our school. I am hosting our first meeting on Tuesday 7 June at 9:00am in the school dining room. If you would like to attend please let the school office know.
Mr Woollcott’s 10km Run
Thank you for all your words of encouragement and sponsorship. I managed to get round the course (running all the way) in 1 hour, 4 minutes and 51 seconds. Altogether I have raised over £450 for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Drink Stall
During Monday playtime the Year 6 children will be making and selling drinks/smoothies at 50p each.
Whole School trip
This is just a reminder that we will be leaving school at 8:30am prompt on Wednesday and not returning until 5pm. Please make sure your child is on time and in full school uniform (packed lunches should be in their black school bag). If you have not already done so, please complete the permission slip and bring in the £10. I have put a slip at the bottom of the page. Please make sure your child has their medication (named) in school on the day.
There will be an opportunity to visit the Tower of London shop. If you would like your child to buy something, please provide them with no more than £3.
INSET Day
This is just a reminder that next week school is closed on Friday 27 May due to an INSET day. We return on Monday 6 June.
