Headteacher’s Comments
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a lovely summer. For those not returning in September, I wish you well and look forward to hearing of your future achievements. For those who are returning, I will look forward to working with you again.
Attendance
Well done to Miss Gibbs’s class who had the best attendance last week with 99.5%.
This is a reminder that I am unable to authorise holidays especially if:
- your child’s attendance is below 90% during the preceding 12 weeks before the leave was taken,
- the leave was taken during the month of September,
- the leave is taken during the End of Key Stage 2 tests (11 May to 15 May 2015),
- it is the second leave taken in any one academic year,
- your child is in Year 6.

Thanks to the PTA
Well done to the PTA who organised yet another action packed and successful Inflatable Day. A special thank you to Panni Shiakallis and Julie Santagata who have helped set up the PTA and who have worked so hard to ensure its success. Panni and Julie will be leaving the PTA this year as their children are moving on to secondary school.
Meet the Teacher Evening (Thursday 4 September 2014 7.00pm)
Advance notice that our ‘Meet the Teacher’ evening, where you have a chance to hear what your child will be learning next year, is on Thursday 4 September starting at 7.00pm. This meeting is unsuitable for children to attend.
Football Maths Challenge
Well done to all the pupils who submitted entries for the World Cup Football Challenge. The winners, selected at random, were : Kyla Gordon from Mrs. Sach’s class and Kacey Ashley from Miss Gibbs’ class.
Tricky: There were 24 possible football kits with the colours given.
Trickier: England would have needed to play 6 games before getting into the final.
