Headteacher’s Comments
Welcome to all the Year 2 children who joined us today. I hope you enjoyed your day. I was really pleased with Open Evening. Thank you to everyone who attended, I hope you found it useful. Open Evening saw our first PTA organised event. Thank you to all the parents who turned up and helped raise £141.96.
Achievements
Well done to Mai-Lei Chan, Holly Morris and Amber Brooks (Ms Stafford’s Class) who were sent round for good quality work they had produced. I saw an avalanche of Year 3 children who have been working hard. Lauren Stergess-Hall and Kirstie Marshall (Miss Bigg’s Class) were sent to me because they have been working hard to learn their times tables since joining our school this year. Aidan Mead, Jack Hammond, Tylah Cox and Alfie Wright (Miss Gordon/ Mrs Tysterman’s class) were sent to me for doing well in their maths task. Ben Brooks (Miss Smith’s Class) came to see me because he has been presenting his work neatly.

Parent Governors
We have a number of vacancies for Parent Governors. This is your chance to help move the school from ‘Good’ to ‘Outstanding’. You will be receiving a letter and a nomination form in September. Please speak with me if you would like to know more about what being a School Governor involves.
Strike Action
As you have probably heard in the news, members of the ATL and NUT unions will be holding a strike next Thursday regarding proposed changes to public sector pensions. I am pleased to inform you that none of the teachers at our school will be on strike so school will be open as usual.
