Headteacher’s Comments

Thank you for your co-operation during the early closure last Friday.  However, there were a number of parents who were extremely rude, especially towards the Office Staff.  This was completely unnecessary and unwarranted.  We should all recognise that it may take a little longer for children to be released from their class to ensure school staff could make sure that all children were safe.

Achievements

Well done to Kishari Francis, Connor Dunkin, Alfie Willis, Stefan Radut (Mrs Raddon’s Class), Kacper Kurzawa and Myreon Keane (Mrs Watson’s Class), Danny Ball (Mrs Westney and Mrs Cromwell’s Class),Yanis Rau (Miss O’Riordan’s Class) who received Green Cards this week.

Attendance

Well done to Miss Biggs’s class who had the best attendance last week.  Thank you to the 167 children who attended school on Monday.

Bird Watch

This weekend is the annual RSPB bird watch weekend.  The RSPB ask members of the public to identify birds in their garden and collect data.  This is sent to the RSPB so they can analyse the data.  If you have a spare 10 minutes this weekend, download the data collection sheet by visiting http://www.rspb.org.uk/Images/bgbw_sheet_2013_tcm9-325757.pdf  Then bring in your information on Monday where you can join Miss Wood to input your data onto the RSPB website.  This is a great opportunity to help your children develop their Science and Maths skills.

Coffee Mornings- NEXT WEEK

This term’s coffee mornings are advertised below.  These give you an opportunity to hear current developments at school and also to hear your feedback about how the school is working.  If you can’t make your particular year group day, please feel free to come on another day.  Nans and Granddads are also welcome.  You will get an exciting FREE GIFT and this time cake will be on offer!!!

Cross Country

The inter school Cross Country competition is fast approaching.  Next Tuesday (29 January) Miss Gibbs will be running trials.  If your child is interested, they need to be able to run around the school field 8 times without stopping.  They need to bring in a change of clothes (they don’t mind getting muddy) and meet Miss Gibbs on the playground at 12:30pm.  This is open to all years.

Plastic Milk Bottle Tops

Raymond Bull’s mum is collecting plastic milk bottle tops (any colour) to help a charity raise money to purchase wheel chairs.  Please can you put them into a plastic bag and give them to your children so they can hand them into the office.
