Headteacher’s Comments
Earlier this week we were visited by a real-life heroine, Emma Hollis. Emma competed for Team GB at the Paralympics. She suffers from Osteogenesis Imperfecta (Brittle Bone Disease) and despite breaking her leg during London 2012, she still competed. Emma is an excellent example of having 'no excuses'.
Achievements
The following children visited me this week because they received Green Cards: Louie Dunkin, Eden Ramsey, Joshua Gilbert, Keion Smith, Christopher Essl, Kai Clarke, Spencer Clark (Miss Biggs). Tomor Troshupa, Faith Wade, Zayan Zubairi and Alfie March (Mrs Pughsley’s Class), Amy Vallance, Erin Rumens, Evie Rumens, Samantha Burton and Rishi Aggarwal (Miss Biggs’s class).
Football Results
Our school football team started their season well with a 6-1 win over Alderton Junior School. Well done.
Attendance
Well done to Mrs Sach’s class who has a near-perfect attendance of
PTA Meeting
The next PTA meeting is next Monday starting at 9:00am.
PTA Events
The PTA have met and arranged the dates for this year’s fundraising events. Please look in ‘Dates for the Diary’ section and keep these dates free.
Parking
I had a very irate driver who came into school on Monday afternoon. He was concerned that parents are not parking considerately and they are blocking the roads for other users, especially around the crossing. Please be considerate when parking, the children’s safety are all our responsibility.
Harvest Festival (Year 3)
As you may already be aware, our Harvest Festival celebrations are coming up. Please could we ask that children bring in their costume (if they have a speaking part) or farmer style clothing (checked shirt/ jeans) or clothes in autumnal colours ready for the performance in a named plastic bag by Monday 1 October. The performance will take place on Friday 5 October at 1:30pm.
Harvest Festival (All Years)
Please could children from each class bring in dried foods and tins for our Harvest Festival by Thursday 4 October e.g. tinned soup, tea bags etc. No fresh food/ fruit/vegetables.
One child from each class will take these items to a Year 3 class each morning where we will collect the items, ready to display on the day of our Harvest Festival before it is donated to the Salvation Army. Thank you in advance for any contributions.
