Headteacher’s Comments

Following on from feedback to the Governors’ Questionnaire earlier this year, I have been looking at the homework books this week.  This is the second time I have looked at them this term.  I am pleased to say the work set is the same between classes and the work is differentiated; meaning the higher attainers are getting work set more for their ability.

However, I do think that the work needs to be better presented.  Each Homework book has a sheet glued into the front showing how the work should be presented; every piece of work should have a date and title and these should be underlined.  Your help to check this would be appreciated.

Research has found that children who complete homework to a high standard makes 6 months more progress than those children who do not.

Well done to Flora So, Ellie Howard, Ruby Chillingworth (Miss Kent’s Class), Tommy Hammond, Tamika-Rose Rosil, Demi-Lee Hoffman (Mr Davey’s Class), Eddie Plowman, Megan Best (Mrs Sach’s Class), Reece Vallance, Madison Bush, Jacob Sliz, Ella Freeman, (Mrs Raddon’s Class) Holly Morris, Alfie Wright, Lewis Wood (Miss Wood’s Class) who all received Green Cards this week.

Well done to Mr Davey’s class who had the best attendance last week with 96.8%.
