I would like to reassure you I didn’t make the decision to shut the school on Wednesday lightly. As many of you experienced, the roads around the school and further a field were grid logged. The teaching staff, many who live a long distance from the school, were sitting in traffic and not going anywhere, with no indication when they would get to school.
Well done to Ms O’Riordan’s class who had the best attendance of 96.7% last week.
This is a reminder that next Tuesday will be the last homework club this term (11 December). Homework Club starts again on Tuesday 8 January.
Since half term our assemblies have moved to 2:45pm. Recently a number of parents have come in to collect their children for a medical appointment, but the children have been in assembly and it has been hard to locate them. Please inform the school in the morning if you are collecting your child early for a medical appointment so your child can be ready for collection.
Help raise money whilst Christmas Shopping
Thank you to everyone who is registering with www.easyfundraising.org.uk website. We have currently raised £27.21. Every time you access a shopping website through www.easyfundraising.org.uk, the school receives a donation at no cost to you. It is a great way to help our PTA raise money at this time of the year. I shopped with Amazon, Ticketmaster and the thetrainline.com for presents for my mum and dad and this created a donation.
Christmas Art Competition
Children are invited to take part in a Winter Scene Art competition, set around the Christmas theme. This can be an outside or inside scene. Cost is 20p per entry. All entries need to be given to the class teachers by 14 December. The winning entry will be announced on 18 December.
