Alongside this newsletter you will receive a booklet about the curriculum next term. This is something that parents asked for at one of my termly coffee mornings. I hope you find it useful. I look forward to seeing as many parents and relatives as possible at the Christmas Carol Concert on Tuesday.
Tickets are only available for the afternoon performance of ‘Robin Hood and Babes in the Wood’. Tickets cost £2 for adults and £1 for children. Please return the money in a named envelope as soon as possible.
Christmas Carol Service- Tuesday 13 December 1:30pm to 2:30pm (approx)
All children will need to bring in a packed lunch. We will walk the children down to the Church. Parents and relatives are more than welcome to join us for the service starting at 1:30pm. All children will be expected to be collected from the Church after the service. Permission slips will only be sent out to those parents who have not yet given permission for us to take their child on local trips.
Christmas Lunch Wednesday 14 December
The cost of Christmas lunch this year will be £2.30. If you haven’t done so already, please return the slip below.
Christmas Parties Friday 16 December 1:15pm to 3:15pm
Christmas parties will be held in each class on Friday 16 December. Children should wear full school uniform on Friday morning, but may bring party clothes to change into. So that we have a balanced selection of party food, it would help us if you could send in a contribution from the selection which your child’s class teacher has ringed below.
Complaints from the Infants School
I have been asked by Mrs Barron to remind parents not to use the Infants School entrance as a drop off, especially for children attending Breakfast Bar, as it means that her staff cannot access their car park safely.
Mrs Barron writes: “Would you mind asking the junior children to use our equipment respectfully if they end up using it after school. It is really designed for the younger not older pupils, but some Y5 especially have been seen to be climbing inside and climbing up and over the castle walls and now the infants are copying this.”
Well done to 11 children in Ms Stafford’s Class for receiving Green Cards last week for working hard in PE, ICT and during Guided Reading. Well done to Billy Burns and Migle Jociute for their excellence work. Mrs Tysterman awarded Liam Nelson a Green Card at the start of the week for excellent independent writing. Teiye Richards, Liam Nelson and Jack Hammond received Green Cards on Tuesday. Well done to Madison Bush who received a Green Card on Tuesday for her excellent writing in writing booster. Deven Stenning and Rishi Aggarwal received Green Cards for their excellent progress in maths. Mrs McConnell gave Kyle Kadiri a Green Card on Thursday for working extra hard during ‘catch-up’. Well done to Jake Ryan who won the lucky plate competition this week. Michael Long brought his artwork around to show me. Michael had illustrated his poem. Well done everyone.
Only the Zumbatomic (Monday), Football (Wednesday) and Multi-Sports (Thursday) clubs will be on next week. All other clubs will not be on.
Well done to Ms Stafford’s Class who had the best attendance last week at 97.5%
I have had a number of complaints from parents who have nearly been knocked down by cars reversing. Please be extremely careful when manoeuvring.
In the New Year the PTA will be organising a used clothes collection scheme. Every child will receive a plastic bag, similar to ones that come through your front door. The PTA will earn money for every kilogram of clothes it collects. So please do not throw out any of your unwanted clothes and save them ready for the collection early next term.
