The school will administer prescribed medicine, for example, antibiotics, to your child if it has to be given during the school day. The medicine must be in the original packaging with the prescriber’s instructions. The school will also administer non-prescribed medication, eg painkillers. All medicines can only be given with written consent from parents.
For those children with long-term medical conditions, eg diabetes, asthma, it is expected that as a child moves through the school, they administer their own medication, under the supervision of a member of staff at the School. In all cases, medication will be stored in the School Office.
