We try to provide as many opportunities as possible to encourage the children in our school to be responsible.

Playleaders – This is a successful scheme where our year six pupils are encouraged to play games during lunchtimes with the younger children.

School Councillors – At the beginning of the school year, two children from each class are elected to represent their peers on the school council. The school council is the pupil voice and their views are fed into school policies. They are responsible for organising fundraising activities.

Fundraising Activities – Pupils are very keen on running fundraising activities and donating the money raised to chosen charities.

Monitors – There are lots of opportunities for children to be monitors, whether class based or around the school. Currently some year four pupils are responsible for setting up the hall for assembly and year five pupils manage the school Tuck Shop.

Sporting Activities – Last year almost all our children took part in an inter-school sporting event. Competitions in which the school were represented included football, netball, tag rugby, cricket, cross country and athletics.

Extra-curricular Activities – We promote a wide range of extra-curricular activities before and after school and during the lunch time. Your child will be notified of these through assemblies and letters. Once your child has made a commitment to an extra-curricular activity they are expected to attend every week. Parents will be asked to sign a permission slip. Although we try to avoid it, there may be times where two activities clash.
