At Leverton we aim to encourage children in design and technology to grow into independent, imaginative problem-solvers and thinkers both individually and as a team. It gives individuals the ability to recognise needs and opportunities and respond to them by developing a variety of ideas, products, and systems.

We aim to foster enjoyment, satisfaction and purpose in designing and making a range of products. The children develop their confidence to take risks, through drafting design concepts, modelling, testing and being reflective learners who evaluate their work.

Since design can help children develop their own identities as young designers by promoting more self-awareness and reaffirming their own values or conceptions of what design is, we want them to value the process of designing, making, and evaluating.
